Attorney General Counselor Saad Abdulkarim Al-Safran said the Public Prosecution has issued the annual report for 2025, underscoring efforts to strengthen transparency and establish a reliable statistical database on criminal cases, while supporting the relevant authorities in combating crime. The report showed that approximately 50,000 criminal cases were recorded during 2025, marking a 7.6% increase compared to 2024. This reflects a rise in the overall workload handled by the Public Prosecution, reports Al-Qabas daily. It also provided a detailed breakdown of crime indicators, comparing them with previous years and highlighting trends in increases and decreases across different categories of offences. In addition, the report included data on defendants, precautionary measures taken, case completion rates, the nature of legal actions implemented, and conviction rates in court rulings issued during 2025 for cases referred to the judiciary.
