Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabai has directed the Educational Affairs Sector to prepare a clear school attendance schedule, with the possibility of continuing studies remotely after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday if current conditions remain unchanged. The directive came during an expanded meeting chaired by the minister on Wednesday, attended by senior officials from various sectors and departments within the Ministry of Education. The meeting focused on monitoring the progress of both educational and administrative operations, as well as reviewing the latest developments in distance learning, reports Al-Rai daily. Discussions highlighted the ministry’s efforts to enhance coordination across sectors and ensure the continuity of the educational process with high efficiency. Attendees reviewed detailed technical reports on students’ performance during remote learning, including levels of attendance, engagement in virtual classes, and key challenges faced by the education system. The meeting also addressed students’ academic achievement across subjects and examined assessment methods suitable for distance education, such as assignments and learning activities, to ensure learning objectives are met. Participants discussed future educational plans, including completing curricula through flexible schedules, strengthening support for students with learning difficulties, enhancing teachers’ performance through technical guidance, and expanding psychological and social support programs to promote a stable and motivating learning environment. The minister instructed officials to develop schedules covering all education sectors—public, private, special, and religious—tailored to current circumstances. He emphasized that remote learning would continue after Eid if needed, alongside strict monitoring of student attendance and engagement. Jalal Al-Tabtabai also stressed the importance of continuous evaluation of educational outcomes, data-driven decision-making, and maintaining a balance between student safety and academic progress. Additionally, he called for improving the technical readiness of distance learning systems, directing authorities to promptly resolve issues faced by students and teachers using platforms such as Microsoft Teams. He underscored the need for strong communication channels between the ministry and the educational field to address challenges quickly and effectively.
