Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, reassured the public that food stocks in Kuwait remain safe. He confirmed that all food commodities are fully available in cooperative societies and supply centers, and that monitoring is ongoing through the ministry’s control room. Al-Ansari highlighted that coordination with the Union of Cooperative Societies and the Ministry of Social Affairs ensures smooth operations, adding that the movement of goods is stable and normal. To further facilitate access, working hours have been extended from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., allowing consumers sufficient time to collect their supplies. Al-Ansari emphasized that there is no need for panic or crowding, as each consumer has an entire month to receive their allocated share. The ministry is closely monitoring cooperative societies and supply branches to organize operations and prevent congestion, with full support from the Ministry of Interior. He praised the public for seeking information from official sources and maintaining awareness. Al-Ansari also referenced two key decisions issued by Minister Osama Boodai — one fixing food prices and another banning the export of food products outside Kuwait. He warned that any artificial price increases will be documented and referred to the Commercial Prosecution, and encouraged consumers to report issues via the Ministry’s electronic portal and mobile application. The ministry’s ongoing measures aim to ensure the continued availability and stability of essential goods, reinforcing public confidence during the current regional situation.
