The Court of Appeal has sentenced a police officer, two policemen, a bedoun, a Syrian man, and a Syrian woman to five years in prison with hard labor after they were found guilty of framing a Syrian resident by planting drugs in his vehicle. The case was uncovered following extensive investigations by anti-narcotics officers, which revealed that the accused had conspired to arrest the victim and fabricate a drug possession charge against him. According to court records, the plot was carried out at the instigation of the victim’s ex-wife, who sought revenge following personal disputes. Investigations showed that the group, which included the officer and two policemen, deliberately planted narcotics in the man’s car to ensure his arrest by security patrols. The Court of Appeal also ordered the dismissal of the two polimen from their jobs, while the bedoun and the Syrian nationals will be deported from Kuwait after completing their prison sentences. Authorities stated that the case came to light after anti-narcotics officers reviewed the circumstances surrounding the initial arrest, eventually exposing the conspiracy and identifying those involved in the scheme.
