The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has opened a crisis registration portal for Australians currently in Kuwait, urging citizens and eligible residents to sign up in order to receive the latest official updates and guidance. DFAT, the Australian government department responsible for foreign policy, international relations, development assistance, consular services, overseas trade, and foreign investment, said the portal is intended to help authorities maintain contact with Australians in the country during the evolving regional situation. According to the department, the registration system is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate family members who hold the right of entry to Australia. Officials said those who register will receive direct communication from the department with the latest information, advice, and possible assistance if required. The move forms part of the Australian government’s contingency planning to ensure that its nationals abroad remain informed and connected with consular authorities during periods of uncertainty. DFAT urged all eligible Australians in Kuwait to register on the crisis portal as soon as possible so they can be contacted quickly with any important developments or safety advisories.
