Earthquake jolts southern Iran on first day of Ramadan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck southern Iran on the first day of Ramadan, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said on Thursday. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), GFZ said.
