Education Ministry conducts emergency evacuation drill across key districts

Kuwait’s Ministry of Education carried out a comprehensive mock evacuation drill on Monday at the Capital, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, and Hawally educational districts buildings shelters. The drill was conducted in coordination with the Directorate-General of Civil Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry’s rapid intervention teams. According to a press release, the exercise aimed to ensure the readiness of shelters and the effectiveness of approved evacuation plans, while also training staff on rapid evacuation procedures and organization during emergencies, reports Al-Rai daily. Such initiatives are designed to enhance response capabilities and ensure the safety of both staff and occupants in educational facilities. The Ministry emphasized that these exercises form part of ongoing preventive plans coordinated with relevant authorities to raise awareness about safety procedures and to cultivate a culture of emergency preparedness within schools and administrative buildings. Officials noted that field drills help evaluate the efficiency of existing procedures and provide opportunities for continuous improvement. The Ministry stressed that ensuring readiness in all emergency situations is vital for maintaining a secure working environment and safeguarding everyone present in educational facilities.
