Egypt strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of the unity and territorial integrity of brotherly Arab states, including Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Jordan, and the grave risks this poses to the security and stability of Arab countries and the entire region. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, Egypt stressed the necessity of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of these countries, upholding the principle of good neighborliness, and exercising maximum restraint during this critical juncture in the region’s history. Egypt emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy to prevent the escalation of the conflict and the region’s descent into a spiral of uncontrollable escalation that threatens regional and international peace and security. Egypt expressed deep concern regarding the dangerous military escalation in the region and the risks it poses of widening the scope of the conflict, potentially plunging the entire region into chaos, which would undoubtedly have disastrous repercussions for regional and international peace, security, and stability.
