The General Administration of Customs said the administration has activated its emergency response plan from the onset of the crisis, introducing alternative logistics routes to ensure the smooth flow of goods across all entry points. Customs spokesman Raed Al-Mathkour stated that air shipments have been rerouted through neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Arab states, with goods transported overland via trucks to Kuwaiti border ports. He emphasized that cargo continues to arrive steadily through land crossings, while clearance operations for shipments received at seaports prior to the escalation are being expedited to support local markets and reinforce strategic reserves, reports Al-Rai daily. These efforts are being carried out in line with directives from the political leadership and through round-the-clock coordination among state entities. Despite operational risks, particularly at southern seaports and in the vicinity of airports, customs operations continue 24/7, except in cases where temporary evacuations are mandated by security authorities during imminent threats. Between February 28 and March 21, customs authorities processed substantial volumes of essential imports, including approximately 417 tons of medicines, 103,775 tons of food supplies, and 24,400 tons of fresh vegetables.
