The Gulf Journalists Union has issued a statement condemning in the strongest terms of the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting the interests of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, warning that this escalation threatens regional and global stability amid the ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The Union described the attacks as a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter, highlighting that targeting civilian facilities, economic infrastructure, and vital services endangers lives and inflicts serious damage on communities and public and private property. The statement emphasized that assaults on ports, energy facilities, transport networks, and supply chains pose a direct threat to regional security and global trade routes, potentially impacting international markets and energy security, reports Al-Rai daily. The Union called on international and regional organizations to condemn these attacks firmly, take measures to halt them, and deter future threats, and urged Arab and global institutions to stand in solidarity with Gulf states in safeguarding their security, stability, and economic capacities. Praising the wisdom and political responsibility of GCC leaders, the Union noted their commitment to diplomatic solutions while maintaining the readiness and capability of Gulf security and military institutions. It also commended the social cohesion and national awareness of Gulf citizens, which strengthens societies’ resilience in facing these challenges. Finally, the Gulf Journalists Union urged media outlets and press institutions in the region to fulfill their professional and national responsibilities by supporting Gulf positions, countering misinformation, and protecting regional security, which it described as a cornerstone of Arab, regional, and international stability.
