The Ministry of Information announced on Wednesday that it has referred individuals and entities violating media regulations to the Public Prosecution, urging all media outlets and social media users to act responsibly and uphold the national interest. In a press statement, the ministry said it has been closely monitoring the circulation of false news and rumors across certain platforms amid current developments, describing such actions as violations of laws governing media work and attempts to mislead public opinion. It confirmed that legal measures have been taken and that the violators have been referred to the competent judicial authority for further action in accordance with the law, reports Al-Rai daily. The ministry stressed that freedom of opinion and expression is guaranteed within the framework of the law, but must be accompanied by professional responsibility, accuracy, credibility, and reliance on official sources. It called on all media institutions and users of social media platforms to demonstrate professionalism and prioritize national unity, contributing to the preservation of security and stability. The statement concluded with a prayer for the continued protection, security, and safety of the State of Kuwait.
