In a decisive move reflecting the government’s drive to fast-track strategic infrastructure, the Central Tenders Committee, during an extraordinary session on Tuesday, approved the tender for completing the ambitious 6.5 Expressway project. This vital artery is envisioned as a transformative addition to Kuwait’s road network — designed to seamlessly connect key hubs including the Sabah Al-Salem University, the Kuwait International Airport, and the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area. The project is set to significantly ease mounting traffic pressures on the Sixth Ring Road, while also revitalizing the existing Road 602 corridor linking Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh to the university’s new campus, reports Al-Qabas daily. In parallel, the Central Agency for Public Tenders has okayed the opening of bids for road construction projects in the Al-Wafra and Al-Abdali agricultural regions, signaling a broader commitment to enhancing connectivity across vital economic zones. These landmark projects are being closely overseen by the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, as part of a comprehensive government strategy to accelerate execution timelines through coordinated efforts with relevant state bodies — ushering in a new phase of efficiency and infrastructure development.
