Meteorologist Issa Ramadan has warned of a severe bout of atmospheric instability expected to begin on Thursday, with heavy rainfall forecast to start after noon and intensify during the night. In a statement to Al-Qabas, Ramadan said that the “Dima” rainfall recorded early Wednesday morning continued for several hours across various parts of Kuwait, extending to other Gulf countries and Iraq. He noted that while rainfall activity may ease during the daytime, it is expected to pick up again Wednesday evening ahead of the peak conditions on Thursday. He urged the public to avoid desert areas, valleys, and low-lying regions, stressing that staying indoors is the safest option, particularly on Thursday when rainfall is expected to be at its heaviest. He also highlighted the importance of taking all necessary precautions to ensure public safety. Ramadan advised limiting movement starting Thursday afternoon, recommending that people remain at home unless absolutely necessary. He also called on livestock owners to relocate animals from open desert areas to higher ground, away from flood-prone zones, to prevent potential losses. He added that such thunderstorm systems are not unusual for this time of year, expressing expectations that the weather conditions will subside by Friday morning. Ramadan emphasized the importance of following updates from reliable sources, particularly the Meteorological Department, to stay informed on the latest developments, while continuing to avoid risky areas during the unstable weather conditions.
