Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei, said that former US President Donald Trump’s claims of seeking diplomacy with Iran are “not credible.” In an interview with India Today, Baghaei stated that several countries have reached out to Iran, offering to mediate with the US. He emphasized that Iran has responded clearly: it will continue to defend itself amid ongoing attacks, reports Al-Jazera. “Look at the facts. Iran is under constant bombardment and missile attacks by the US and Israel. Their claim of diplomacy and mediation is not credible because they started this war and continue to attack Iran,” Baghaei said. Regarding Pakistan’s role, he noted that Iran sees Islamabad’s intentions as positive. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been in contact with his Pakistani counterpart and diplomats from other nations. “These kinds of talks are ongoing between Iran and its neighbors and other friendly countries. Regional countries are concerned about the consequences and are trying to help calm the situation,” Baghaei added.
