Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed on Monday the death of the naval forces’ commander, Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri, who succumbed to wounds sustained in a recent attack. In a statement, the IRGC said Tangsiri had been injured during what it described as an attack by “hostile forces” while overseeing efforts to reinforce defensive positions along Iran’s islands and coastal areas. The announcement follows earlier reports by Israeli occupation forces last Thursday claiming that the IRGC naval commander had been killed in an airstrike. — KUNA
