Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) announced on Saturday that its teams, with support from the Kuwait Army, National Guard and the oil sector, have fully extinguished a fire that broke out in fuel storage tanks that lasted for 58 consecutive hours at Kuwait International Airport following hostile drone attacks. Director of Public Relations and Media and official spokesperson for the Kuwait Fire Force Brigadier Mohammad Al-Ghareeb, said during a media briefing on the latest field developments amid the Iranian aggression on Kuwait that the damage was limited to material losses with no human casualties reported. Al-Ghareeb added that since the onset of the aggression, the Fire Force has responded to 82 unusual incidents, including fires caused by shrapnel or direct targeting, in addition to securing sites across the country. He noted that over the past 24 hours, firefighting teams continued to respond to blazes resulting from direct drone and missile strikes, as well as fires caused by falling debris following air defense interceptions targeting vital facilities. He urged citizens and residents to exercise caution, avoid approaching or attempting to deal with fires or suspicious objects resulting from falling debris, as they may pose serious danger to lives, especially if they contain highly flammable or hazardous materials. He also called for immediate reporting of such incidents via the emergency number (112), leaving handling to specialized firefighting teams to ensure public safety. Al-Ghareeb affirmed that all Fire Force personnel continue to perform their national duty with vigilance and dedication, prioritizing the protection of lives, property and community safety above all else. He prayed Allah Almighty for the continued safety of Kuwait and its people under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Earlier, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) announced on Wednesday that drones targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a fire at the site. Its official spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi confirmed to KUNA that, according to initial reports, the damage was purely material with no casualties reported. – Kuna
