Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al-Mashmoum from the Public Relations and Media Department of the Kuwait Fire Force has called on citizens and residents to deal with accidents and crises calmly and responsibly, stressing that awareness and caution play a crucial role in protecting lives and ensuring public safety. Speaking on Kuwait TV, Al-Mashmoum emphasized the importance of carrying out evacuation procedures in an orderly and calm manner without crowding in the event of danger, to allow everyone to exit safely and efficiently. He revealed that firefighting teams recently received reports of two separate incidents — one at Kuwait International Airport and another involving a residential building in the southern part of the country. Firefighting units and relevant authorities responded immediately to both incidents, which resulted in only minor injuries that were treated on site by specialized medical teams, reports Al-Rai daily. Addressing the current rainy weather conditions across the country, Al-Mashmoum also urged motorists to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and safety guidelines while driving, noting that careful driving during rainfall helps reduce traffic accidents and protects road users. He further advised homeowners and heads of households to ensure that rainwater drainage systems in homes — particularly in basements and on rooftops — are functioning properly to prevent water accumulation. Residents were also encouraged to check that electrical wiring is properly insulated to avoid short circuits that could pose safety risks. The KFF reiterated that public cooperation and adherence to safety instructions are essential to maintaining the safety of communities during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
