Kuwait Armed Forces Detect 20 Ballistic Missiles, 9 Drones Over 24 Hours

Kuwait’s armed forces detected 20 hostile ballistic missiles within the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours, successfully intercepting and destroying 13 of them, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday. In a statement issued by official spokesperson Colonel Staff Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, the ministry said the remaining seven missiles fell outside the threat zone and posed no danger. The military also reported detecting nine hostile drones, six of which were destroyed. Two drones targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a fire that is currently being handled by specialized teams. No injuries have been reported. One additional drone fell outside the threat zone, according to the statement. Separately, a unit of the Kuwait National Guard intercepted and destroyed one drone along with five others within its areas of responsibility, as part of ongoing coordination between military entities. The Kuwaiti armed forces reaffirmed their full readiness to safeguard the nation’s security and protect its sovereignty.
