Kuwait arrests man for spreading false claims of mass detentions

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior Kuwait announced the arrest of an unidentified person who appeared in a widely circulated social media video promoting false and misleading information. According to the ministry, the suspect claimed that more than 1,000 people had been arrested — an assertion which authorities described as completely unfounded and likely to mislead public opinion and create confusion. The suspect also called for amnesty for those expressing sympathy with what he described as Iranian actions, reports Al-Rai daily. Officials confirmed that legal measures have been taken against the accused, who has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation. The ministry emphasized the importance of verifying information through official sources and warned against the spread of rumors or false news. It stressed that it will take firm action against anyone attempting to spreads misinformation or undermine the country’s security and stability.
