The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has reassured the public that food supplies in the local market remain sufficient, emphasizing its readiness to handle all incoming shipments efficiently while maintaining strict safety controls. In a statement, Dr. Shaima Al-Asfour, Deputy Director General for Community Nutrition Affairs, said operations are proceeding at full capacity to ensure the smooth flow of food products into the Kuwaiti market. She highlighted that the authority’s teams are working around the clock to facilitate the entry and inspection of shipments, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Asfour explained that the authority’s outlets and laboratories operate continuously to receive and examine food products, ensuring they meet approved standards and specifications. She stressed that these efforts align with the authority’s core mission of safeguarding public health and maintaining a safe and stable food environment. Meanwhile, Dr. Saud Al-Jalal, Deputy Director General for Inspection and Control Affairs, reaffirmed that food availability is stable across the country, while underlining the intensification of inspection campaigns. He noted that inspection teams are conducting extensive field tours across central markets, cooperative societies, supply branches, and food factories to verify the safety and proper storage of food products. These efforts are being carried out under the directives of Dr. Reem Al-Faleej, Minister of State for Development and Sustainability. Al-Jalal added that close monitoring of storage practices forms a key part of the inspection process, ensuring that food items are handled in accordance with health and safety regulations to protect both citizens and residents. The authority reiterated its commitment to maintaining food security and safety through continuous oversight, strict regulatory enforcement, and rapid response to any potential risks within the supply chain.
