Kuwait cracks down on unjustified water tanker price hikes, takes legal action

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that it conducted inspection campaigns at water tanker parking areas in Salmiya, Jabriya, and Al-Rai, resulting in the issuance of nine violation reports against offenders and the initiation of necessary legal procedures. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, the Ministry said that the violations observed during the inspections carried out by emergency teams included tanker owners failing to adhere to the prices stipulated by regulations and imposing unjustified and artificial price increases, thus infringing upon consumer rights. The Ministry affirmed its continued efforts to enhance oversight and monitoring to ensure market stability, guarantee the availability of goods and services, and protect consumer rights.
