Authorities in Kuwait have issued a circular to imams across the country allowing the performance of Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers in all mosques starting tonight, while setting specific time limits to ensure the safety of worshippers amid the current circumstances. The directive, circulated to mosque imams, states that Taraweeh prayers will begin immediately after the Isha prayer starting tonight, but the duration must not exceed 20 minutes, reports Al-Rai daily. The circular explained that, in light of the situation in the country and in the interest of public safety, several measures have been adopted: Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers will be held in all mosques across Kuwait. Ramadan prayer centers and guest reciters have been cancelled. Taraweeh prayers will last no longer than 20 minutes after Isha. Qiyam (night prayer) will be held for 30 minutes, from 12:00 midnight to 12:30 am. The circular urged imams to strictly follow the instructions to ensure the proper organization of worship and the safety of worshippers, while praying for the protection of Kuwait and Muslim countries from harm.
