Kuwait Alyawm, the official gazette, published decrees today (Sunday) detailing the reorganization of the supervision and affiliation of several government institutions and public authorities, assigning them to relevant ministers. According to the decrees, the Environment Public Authority will now be attached to the Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs, who will also assume oversight of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, exercising all powers assigned under Law No. 94 of 1983. In addition, the Cabinet issued a decision placing the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition under the supervision of the same minister, with full powers as outlined in Law No. 112 of 2013. Further decrees transferred the oversight of the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, the Central Statistical Bureau, the Public Institution for Social Security, and the Kuwait Investment Authority to the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, reports Al-Rai daily. The Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority was also attached to the same minister. Meanwhile, supervision of the Kuwait Human Rights Bureau has been reassigned to the Minister of Justice, and the Central Agency for Public Tenders will now be under the Minister of Finance. These administrative changes aim to streamline governance, enhance coordination, and strengthen the operational oversight of Kuwait’s key institutions in line with strategic national priorities.
