Kuwait’s National Guard announced that its duty force succeeded in shooting down seven hostile drones that violated the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours. Official spokesman for the National Guard Brigadier Dr. Jad’aan Fadhel said during a media briefing on the current developments and the latest field updates amid the Iranian aggression against Kuwait that the National Guard had intercepted and downed a total of 27 unmanned aerial vehicles since the start of the aggression. He noted that the total included three unmanned aircraft and 24 drones, adding that the Engineering Battalion’s Explosives Disposal Unit handled 31 reports related to missile remnants and debris across various locations. Brigadier Fadhel reassured citizens and residents that radiation readings in Kuwait’s airspace and territorial waters remain normal, noting that the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Center for Chemical Defense and Radiological Monitoring at the National Guard is fully prepared around the clock to monitor radiation levels, provide continuous readings and detect any potential hazards. The center maintains a 24-hour hotline to provide early warning to the relevant authorities, he added. Brigadier Fadhel added that as part of efforts to support the Ministries of Defense and Interior in securing vital facilities, National Guard duty forces have been deployed to protect 46 key sites across the country while continuing their primary mission of safeguarding vital infrastructure. He noted that the National Guard has also provided support and assistance to several government entities. He concluded by urging citizens and residents to rely on official sources for information and avoid rumors, stressing that unity and teamwork remain essential to strengthening the internal front and ensuring Kuwait’s security and stability. – KUNA
