His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit to the Liberation Tower on Wednesday to evaluate the resilience of the nation’s digital infrastructure amidst current regional developments. Accompanied by Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Saud Al-Omar and Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) Dr. Khaled Al- Zamil, His Highness was briefed on the operational status of vital communications facilities and information systems. During the visit, His Highness convened a meeting with senior officials and executives from local private telecommunications companies. The discussions focused on technical and operational readiness, with a specific emphasis on “approved emergency plans” designed to ensure service continuity and avoid any potential disruption. His Highness underscored that a robust digital infrastructure is a “fundamental pillar of national security.” His Highness the Prime Minister expressed his profound appreciation for the national workforce and telecommunications providers, commending their diligent efforts to safeguard the sector.
