Kuwait Stock Exchange falls nearly 2% as all main indices close lower

The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed trading on Monday with its general index down 164.02 points, or 1.91 percent, to reach 8,408.29 points. A total of 280.2 million shares were traded through 29,319 cash transactions, with a value of KD 111.2 million (approximately USD 339.16 million). The main market index fell 155.11 points, or 1.96 percent, to reach 7,764.39 points, with 66.11 million shares traded through 6,493 cash transactions, valued at KD 7.8 million (approximately USD 23.7 million). The premier market index also declined, dropping 174.41 points, or 1.90 percent, to reach 8,981.36 points, with 214.11 million shares traded through 22,826 transactions, valued at KD 103.4 million (approximately USD 315.3 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index fell 364.90 points, or 4.37 percent, to close at 7,986.02 points, with 61.5 million shares traded in 5,608 cash transactions worth 6.7 million dinars (approximately $20.4 million).
