Kuwait unveils digital mosque map for seamless prayer access

2026-03-19 - 13:22

In a forward-looking step blending faith with technology, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has unveiled an integrated digital guide for Eid prayers, announcing designated mosque locations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH (2026) through the innovative Kuwait Mosques application. This smart initiative empowers worshippers to effortlessly locate the nearest mosque by simply selecting their governorate, triggering an interactive map that clearly distinguishes prayer sites. Mosques hosting Eid prayers are illuminated in green, while those not designated appear in blue, ensuring precise navigation and smooth organization of worshipper movement across the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The ministry confirmed that Eid prayers will commence promptly at 6:08 am, to be held exclusively inside mosques — specifically those already designated for Friday prayers — reinforcing structured and orderly attendance. In a decisive measure prioritizing public safety and crowd management, the ministry announced that no Eid prayers will be held in open outdoor squares this year, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding worshippers and maintaining a secure environment. Extending warm felicitations, the ministry conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the Kuwait — its leadership and its people — on the blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, praying for its return with enduring goodness, prosperity, and blessings for all.
