Kuwaiti crude surges to $148.62 despite sharp global oil decline

The price of Kuwaiti crude oil rose by US $5.58 to reach US $148.62 per barrel in trading on Monday, compared to US $143.04 per barrel on Friday, according to the price announced by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. In global markets, Brent crude futures fell by US #2.93 to US $100.21 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell by US $5.21 to US $93.50 per barrel.
