The Ministry of Interior, has announced a major security breakthrough following the dismantling of a terrorist cell affiliated with the banned organization Hezbollah — a plot aimed at destabilizing the country and undermining its sovereignty. In its 12th media briefing issued Monday, the Ministry confirmed that security services, after intensive monitoring and investigations, successfully uncovered and arrested 16 suspects, including 14 Kuwaiti citizens and two Lebanese nationals. The group was actively working to recruit individuals and execute coordinated acts of sabotage targeting national stability. Authorities revealed that the cell had devised an organized plan to carry out operations threatening the country’s security and public safety, underscoring the seriousness of the threat. During the operation, security forces seized a cache of dangerous materials and equipment in the possession of the suspects, including firearms and ammunition, a weapon believed to be intended for assassinations, encrypted communication devices using Morse code, and drones. Additional items confiscated included maps, flags and images linked to terrorist organizations, narcotic substances, cash, and specialized weapons used for training purposes. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to confronting any threats to national security, stressing that it will continue to take firm and decisive action against anyone attempting to compromise the safety and stability of the country.
