The Ministry of Interior announced the temporary closure of several roads due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall across the country. In a statement, the Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media urged citizens and residents to exercise caution while driving, warning of hazardous conditions due to flooded roads and the closure of key routes, as well as entrances and exits to certain areas. The ministry outlined a series of traffic diversions to manage the situation: King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road will be closed to traffic coming from Kuwait City, with vehicles redirected to Sixth Ring Road towards Jahra. Traffic heading from King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road towards Kuwait City will be diverted to Al Taawon Street, leading to Al Bidaa Roundabout. Vehicles coming from Al Taawon Street towards Al Messila will be required to turn right onto King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road towards Kuwait City. The two right-turn branches of the Sixth Ring Road coming from Jahra onto King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road towards Fahaheel will also be closed. Authorities called on the public to remain at home unless absolutely necessary, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules and following instructions from security personnel to ensure safety and facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to protect road users amid the ongoing severe weather conditions.
