MOI quashes mall security rumors, assures public of stability

The Ministry of Interior has firmly denied reports circulating on social media alleging a threat or security incident at one of the country’s shopping malls, stressing that the situation remains normal and poses no cause for concern. In a statement, the ministry explained that the visible security presence and deployment are part of routine procedures and established preventive plans. These measures, it noted, are being implemented in light of current local and regional conditions to enhance readiness, safeguard vital and commercial facilities, and ensure public safety, reports Al-Rai daily. The ministry emphasized that such security arrangements are precautionary in nature and fall within standard operational protocols aimed at maintaining stability and protecting citizens and residents. Reiterating its call for responsibility, the ministry urged the public to verify information before sharing it, warning against the spread of unconfirmed reports. It added that the relevant authorities are actively monitoring rumor circulation and will take necessary legal action against those found responsible for spreading false information.
