Amid rapidly evolving regional developments and the persistence of conflict, the Kuwait Fire Force has emerged as a central pillar of national preparedness, reinforcing the country’s rapid response capabilities and addressing a wide spectrum of emergency scenarios. Drawing on extensive field experience and proactive planning, the force has intensified its operational readiness since the onset of the escalation. Comprehensive field inspection tours have been conducted across vital facilities and strategic installations nationwide, aimed at ensuring the readiness of safety and prevention systems. These efforts also sought to strengthen coordination with relevant authorities, ensuring seamless integration of roles in the event of emergencies, reports Al-Rai daily. The inspections included detailed reviews of evacuation plans and assessments of firefighting and rescue equipment efficiency, reflecting a strong commitment to preparedness under all circumstances. Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Kuwait Fire Force, underscored the importance of maintaining maximum readiness to confront potential risks. He described firefighters as the first line of defense in safeguarding lives and property, highlighting the deep appreciation for their dedication and sacrifices. Providing an operational overview, Al-Gharib revealed that from February 28 until last Sunday, the force handled a total of 940 incidents, ranging from routine calls to exceptional emergencies. Among these were 78 cases involving debris from drones and missiles intercepted by air defenses, which resulted in fires and required coordinated search, containment, and site-securing operations. He affirmed that the force remains fully prepared to respond to all types of emergencies, maintaining continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure swift action and effective protection of lives and assets. He also praised the discipline and efficiency demonstrated by preventive safety teams, noting that their performance reflects a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism across all units. At the institutional level, the General Fire Force has convened a series of coordination meetings with government and security agencies to enhance national readiness and unify crisis management efforts. These discussions have led to the development of comprehensive emergency response plans, including scenarios addressing large-scale fires and incidents linked to potential regional repercussions. Emphasis has been placed on the rapid and accurate exchange of information to support timely decision-making. As part of its public awareness mandate, the force has issued a series of advisory statements urging citizens and residents to adhere to official instructions, avoid misinformation, and ensure the safety of electrical systems and preventive measures within homes and facilities. These proactive campaigns, delivered via various media platforms, have contributed to strengthening community awareness and fostering a culture of safety. Operational readiness has also been reinforced through the deployment of additional personnel and modern equipment across fire stations, alongside intensive training programs simulating major crisis scenarios. These measures aim to ensure the highest levels of preparedness and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency. In a parallel humanitarian effort, several leaders and personnel from the force participated in blood donation campaigns to support the national blood bank reserves. This initiative reflects the organization’s broader commitment to social responsibility and solidarity, complementing its core mission of protecting lives. On the ground, fire crews have responded to multiple incidents triggered by hostile attacks, successfully containing fires in both vital and residential locations. These included fires at units within the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, as well as incidents at the Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries, all of which were brought under control following drone strikes. Firefighters also extinguished a blaze in a residential building in the southern region, in addition to controlling fires at fuel storage tanks at Kuwait International Airport and at a government facility. Each incident was managed with high efficiency, underscoring the force’s rapid response capabilities and operational resilience. Through sustained vigilance, coordinated action, and unwavering commitment, the General Fire Force continues to stand at the forefront of national efforts—protecting lives, securing infrastructure, and ensuring stability amid an increasingly complex and challenging environment.
