Mohammed Al-Halil, Director of the Audit and Archives Department at the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), announced the activation of the Authority’s emergency plan, ensuring that shelters are fully equipped with necessary supplies for both employees and visitors. The measures come in response to the ongoing regional and national developments. Speaking on Kuwait TV, Al-Halil urged the public not to visit the Authority in person at this time, explaining that most services are now available electronically. In-person transactions are limited to a few essential cases, such as procedures related to custody rulings, which can be postponed until the crisis ends. The Authority handles 7,000 to 8,000 electronic transactions daily, operating from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at its main center, as well as the Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi centers. Joint centers with other government agencies follow the respective agencies’ working hours, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Halil highlighted the role of digital platforms such as “Sahl” and “Huwayti”, which allow residents to complete many services online without visiting PACI offices. Special provisions have also been made to assist the elderly and people with disabilities. Regarding civil ID cards, he confirmed that residents do not need to visit in person, as digital cards are accessible via the “My Identity” application. Many residents had sought to receive their civil ID before traveling, but with the airport closed and flights suspended, they are encouraged to postpone collection until after the crisis. The Authority emphasized that all necessary measures are in place to continue providing services safely while ensuring the protection of both employees and residents.
