PAFN shuts down 5 establishments over serious violations

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition announced that the Capital Governorate Inspection Department has shut down five food establishments as part of ongoing inspection campaigns aimed at ensuring the safety of food products in local markets and protecting public health. The authority said inspectors detected several violations during the inspections, including the display of food unfit for human consumption, the sale of adulterated food products, and the thawing of frozen meat with the intention of selling it as fresh, reports Al-Rai daily. Other violations involved failure to comply with required standards of public hygiene during food preparation and handling. The authority emphasized that inspection and monitoring campaigns will continue across all governorates to ensure that food establishments adhere to approved health regulations and to maintain food safety standards in the market.
