The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Eid Al-Rashidi, said the ministry is closely monitoring the ongoing rainy conditions affecting the country through its operations room, which is continuously tracking water accumulation and coordinating response efforts across all regions and governorates. In remarks to Kuwait TV, Al-Rashidi stated that the ministry has elevated its state of readiness to the highest level, with emergency teams deployed across all governorates and supported by the necessary equipment and machinery to ensure swift response to any weather-related emergencies. He added that there is ongoing coordination with relevant government agencies to address emerging issues, particularly in areas experiencing higher water levels. Emergency teams, he noted, are focused on maintaining water flow on roads and preventing disruptions to traffic movement, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Rashidi also urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of unstable weather, stressing the importance of safeguarding lives and property amid the current conditions. Meanwhile, Director of the Operations Room at the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Fares Al-Daqbasi, said the heavy rainfall has already begun and is expected to continue until late Thursday evening. He noted that the rainfall experienced in the country yesterday was unusually intense compared to typical regional weather patterns, describing it as heavy and concentrated within a short timeframe, making precise forecasting difficult.
