QCAA announces partial resumption of air traffic via designated emergency air routes

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) announced on Friday the partial resumption of air traffic via designated emergency air routes and with limited capacity, in full coordination with the Qatari Armed Forces and relevant authorities in the country. The QCAA stated via its X platform account that this phase includes operating a limited number of flights dedicated to evacuating passengers, in addition to cargo flights, in light of the current circumstances in the region and to ensure the continued provision of essential air services. The QCAA affirmed that it continues to operate at the highest levels of operational readiness and in constant coordination with various relevant authorities in the country to ensure the safety and security of passengers and employees in the civil aviation sector, and to maintain the smooth flow of air traffic according to the highest international standards. It stated that it is continuously monitoring developments and will keep the public and aviation sector partners informed of any updates as they occur. The QCAA emphasized the importance of passengers with confirmed bookings with airlines checking the latest information regarding their flights, stressing that the flights mentioned do not include scheduled flights to and from Doha, which will resume as soon as an official announcement is issued by the QCAA regarding the safe reopening of airspace. –KUNA
