Three Arrested for Mocking Country’s Situation in Social Media Video

The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of three individuals, two Kuwaiti nationals and one Colombian national, after authorities detected a video circulating on social media in which the suspects allegedly mocked the current situation in the country. According to the ministry, the individuals face charges that include spreading false news, harming the national interests of the country, and misuse of a telephone. The ministry stated that the arrests came as part of ongoing monitoring of content circulating on social media platforms. Following the detection of the video clip, the competent authorities took immediate action and apprehended the suspects. All three have been detained and the necessary legal procedures have been completed to refer them to the competent authorities for further action. The Ministry of Interior stressed that such behavior is unacceptable and reiterated the importance of adhering to laws and regulations governing the use of social media platforms. The ministry also urged the public to refrain from publishing or circulating content that could harm the interests of the State and called on everyone to act responsibly and uphold their national duties. Authorities emphasized that the law will be firmly applied against anyone who violates regulations, particularly under the current circumstances facing the country and the region.
