Thunderstorms to persist until Friday dawn, Meteorology chief warns

The Director of the Kuwait Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, has forecast that thunderstorms will continue to affect the country until dawn on Friday, as part of a weather system bringing intermittent rain. In a telephone interview on Kuwait TV, Al-Ali said the rainy conditions will be accompanied by occasional wind gusts, particularly where cumulonimbus clouds form with thunder, which may reduce horizontal visibility in some areas. He added that rainfall intensity will fluctuate, sometimes decreasing and at other times increasing. Al-Ali also clarified that circulating reports about potential flooding in the Gulf are inaccurate, urging residents to rely on official sources for weather updates.
