US President Donald Trump indicated that he remains open to engaging in dialogue with a potential new Iranian leadership, following the recent US-led military strikes that targeted Iran’s top officials. In an interview with Politico, Trump responded to a question on whether it was too late to consider working with a new Iranian government, saying, “No.. It’s not too late yet.” He highlighted that the US operation has resulted in the deaths of 49 senior Iranian leaders, adding that many new figures may rise to leadership positions, some of whom “could be highly competent.” On the military front, Trump emphasized Iran’s weakened capabilities, noting shortages in weapons, launch sites, and missile platforms due to the ongoing losses inflicted by US forces. He reassured that the United States possesses “unlimited” ammunition reserves, stating, “We store it, we produce it.. defense companies are working at an accelerated pace to manufacture the equipment we need. They are operating under emergency orders.” Trump’s comments come as the US continues operations in Iran under the campaign named Epic Wrath, aimed at degrading Tehran’s military infrastructure and preventing further threats in the region. – KUNA
