Amid widespread raids across multiple Iranian regions, US President Donald Trump announced that American forces have launched a large-scale and ongoing military operation against Iran. In a video address on Saturday, Trump stated that the operation’s primary goal is to protect American citizens and neutralize Iran’s missile capabilities. He emphasized that Washington aims to ensure Iran “no longer poses a nuclear threat.” Trump highlighted a long history of Iranian hostility, saying Tehran has repeatedly attacked American targets and that the regime has chanted “Death to America” for decades. Addressing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (RG), he warned: “Lay down your weapons or we will destroy you.” He also acknowledged that American lives might be lost during the operation, adding, “That’s what happens in war.” The president stressed that the Iranian regime’s activities threaten US forces and bases abroad, and asserted that no nation can challenge the United States, Al-Rai daily reports. He reiterated support for the Iranian people and claimed that the US had sought diplomatic solutions with Tehran, which were reportedly rejected. Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry has yet to release information on casualties or the full scope of affected areas. The Kuwaiti Civil Aviation Authority announced the suspension and cancellation of all flights from Kuwait to Iran until further notice as regional tensions continue to escalate.
